Don’t throw away stale croissants!

Miss Thrifty2 July 12, 2008

I keep croissants in the freezer and pull them out as needed – bunging them straight in the oven – so I rarely have to bin any.

The bad news: if they are left out, croissants do go stale quickly.

The good news: if you do end up with stale croissants, don’t throw them out because they¬†make a delicious bread and butter pudding (traditional recipe here)!¬†

Tear into pieces and substitute for regular bread. Mix some dried fruit into the mixture too. The texture is much lighter and fluffier than a regular bread and butter pud.
