Alton Towers competition The Sun newspaper is running an Alton Towers offer. Readers who collect tokens will get two FREE tickets worth £79.

To take advantage of this offer, you need to collect nine numbered tokens printed in The Sun and The News of the World between now and Friday 18 March. Once you have collected the tokens, fill out the application form on the newspaper’s website and the Alton Towers tickets will be posted to you.

The last day to begin collecting is today (9 March 2011). More information can be found here.

COMPETITION TIME

To mark the promotion, The Sun has given me two FREE tickets to Alton Towers to give away to one lucky Miss Thrifty reader.

To enter: simply leave a comment below, with the name of your favourite theme park or fairground ride.

If you are a fan of Miss Thrifty on Facebook, you can go to the Facebook page and enter a second time there.

The winner will be selected at random, using an online number generator, and the closing date is 5 pm on Monday 14 March.

Please note that if you are collecting Sun tokens, you can still enter. Good luck!

UPDATE: Thanks to all who entered. This competition is now closed. I shall be drawing the winner shortly and announcing him/her here on the blog.

The rides on Brighton pier may be old school, but the thrill of swinging your legs out over the sea whilst being totally windswept complete the whole experience. Best on a sunny, cold winter day with the sound of screams, wind, seagulls and smell of sea, chips & candyfloss for accompaniment.

oh dear. i’ve no head for heights at all. i went on a very young ride at butlins once and my cousin stood on the ground laughing at my scared little face. my other cousin (who was 9 at the time: i was 45 lol!) was on the ride too and was all ‘you wimp’. so i’ll have to say the waltzing teacups….
