Flavrbox aims to bring the farmer’s market to your door. It’s like Glossybox, but for posh food. Every month a box arrives, filled with delicious goodies such as shortbreads, sauces, jams, teas and chocolates.
When eHarmony UK asked to team up with me on a sponsored competition, I said yes. I suppose that Flavrbox and online dating are not dissimilar: both involve trying something new, cater to various tastes and may involve drooling.
Would you like a free six-month subscription to Flavrbox? Then this is the competition for you.

Picnics are always great….at this time of year perhaps a flask of hot chocolate and some indulgent chocolate biscuits. Nothing beats fresh air. Its also a low pressure/relaxed date, the perfect type!

My Dating Tip is Dont be negative and have fun
get a 2 for 1 deal or get a online deal and of course Orange Wednesdays
go to a talk/ presentation at local university or museum
My thrifty date would be dinner at Pizza Express as they have brilliant deals all year round
I have an unlimited card for the cinema so me and my other half went there for some of our first dates
Go to a free museum (like Natural History) which makes a great day out and take drinks/snacks for the car (thoughtful and thrifty!)
Use your Nectar points & exchange them for Vue Cinema vouchers! This will make for a free night out if you have enough points!
& Wetherspoons have good deals on Tuesdays (Steak Club) & Thursdays (Curry Night) so you can get a good meal & a drink for a bargain price before you go to the cinema
Whenever me and my husband want somewhere really special to go, we head to the beach. It where we spent all our first dates (as penniless students) and where he proposed to me. We can sit there for hours just talking and splashing in the sea.
One of the supermarket “Dine in for 2 for £10″ offers – with a good DVD – perfect!
cook a meal at home its cheaper and lets you show off your skills
A summer meal in the garden, made with home grown produce from the garden
Walk along the beach, nice and cheap
A coffee date is always a good option
Make your own food, saves money, can control the environment and is healthy.
Pop to a market at the end of the day, snap up some goodies for really reduced prices and cook a yummy dinner – cheap but impressive to your date!
put a hair in the soup!!
Save up some tesco clubcard points and multiply them out! E.g. at pizza express!

Buy discount meal vouchers on groupon.
go to orange wednesdays

have a trip to your local forset and gather some twigs, cones and berries. Then when you get home you can create your own christmas reef with a little ribbons and fishing line. great as a cheap christmas gift for someone too….. tip to make it last till next year- buy some gloss and cover the reef. great for added wow and will reserve reef for longer
The thriftiest date I’ve ever been on was when we went to the local museum and aquarium (both free entry) in the afternoon, then stopped off at his in the evening so he could show off his cooking skills. It was super cheap, we had great food, a great time and I also learnt he’s a great chef!

Always meet for drinks, not dinner on a first date, that way if there’s no spark you can excuse yourself after a few drinks without offense or if there IS a spark you can move on to dinner
FORGET YOUR PURSE SO THE OTHER HALF PAYS!!
A picnic, a blanket, a beautiful woodland walk
