As has been previously documented, I love my slow cooker: it saves time, saves on washing up, reduces food waste and saves oodles of cash.
This evening I was mooching around ASDA (looking at their
rollbacked rolledback discounted breast pumps, actually – but don’t worry, I shall spare you the details) when I saw that store-brand slow cookers have been reduced from £15.17 to just £9.
If you don’t have a slow cooker and are tempted to invest in one, now is the perfect time: it’s cold and getting colder, and those winter soups, chowders and stews will soon be back on the menu. Also, £9 is a steal: that ASDA slow cooker (pictured) is a family-sized model, with a 3.5 litre capacity, and looks to be pretty sturdy. It’s brushed steel on the outside, ceramic on the inside and has high and low settings.
This model is currently out of stock on the ASDA website, but piled high in the stores. Let me know if you get one and I’ll write up some more slow cooker recipes.
