Crivens, perhaps I need to brush up my act? This is from (ahem) another blog:
“In my stumblings I came across Miss Thrifty, at first I got a little excited, a female thrifter perhaps this is a match made in heaven. Alas these warm feelings didn’t last for long…On the 21st of March Miss Thrifty made strongly anti-state comments, despite been mentioned on the BBC, an agent provocateur? On the 1st of March she details private receipt information, who does she think she is, Julian Assange? In the post categories there is no ‘Ultimate thrift’, sounds like a fake to me.
This is the scene of the abomination http://www.miss-thrifty.co.uk. Not only is the site cluttered with endorsements of capitalism but you will find no evidence of the ultimate thrift of [blogger's name]. This is why I am beginning a crusade against Miss Thrifty and her ideological evil.”
Incidentally, in case you were wondering, that Agent Provocateur link wasn’t added by the blogger.

I like the fact your evil capitalist “skim links” has linked agent provocateur to a suitable shopping site :p
Also has he not read a 101 and one uses of a lemon, though I do think you should have included the whole post I mean “Not only is she from Yorkshire, recently named ‘England’s least thrifty county’, all her advice is terrible.” Yorkshire not thrifty where does he get this evidence not from my shoes he doesn’t!!!
Well, I’m not from Yorkshire really – I do enjoy living here though. I am not sure if my native Essex has a suitably thrifty reputation: it’s all razzle and vajazzle these days, isn’t it? At least in Yorkshire, I’m amongst my own…
Lemons: goodness, you have a memory!
I would suggest that if you are going to post the comment, remove the link back to “agent provocateur”. As links improve traffic and SEO.
I love your site!!

I just checked the OED: ‘thrift’ and ‘socialism’ have different definitions. Perhaps that blogger should check too. For goodness sakes, people thrift for many reasons from actually being very greedy (Scrooge!), to saving the planet, to saving up… why on earth do we need to cost up everything and ascribe some pseudo-intellectual-socialist political vehemence? (Which is the kind of thing that discredits everyday labour folk in my humble opinion). Thrift and let thrift…
Crikey – this is like Reds-under-the-beds in reverse!
