This is not a spreadsheet. This is a Miss Thrifty-endorsed, frugal fashion spreadsheet. If you click on the image above to get a better look… well, don’t say I didn’t warn you!

It comes courtesy of Miss Thrifty reader Maddy, who explains:

Rained in one day I thought I’d apply some of my business skills to my domestic life, and did a stock take of all my clothes and a spreadsheet so I could analyse the colours and find out WHY I never could get things to match when I wanted to pack for a weekend away. On the strength of my results I have chucked a load of clothes and now have a list of permitted colours that will fit with the remaining items. Bliss, stress-free dressing, well almost – still too fat but at least I’m co-ordinated.

She adds that, armed with her spreadsheet, she no longer wastes money on clothes that looked great on the hanger (and on her), but which were ill-suited to the rest of her wardrobe. Instead, when Maddy does shop for clothes, she now goes for key pieces that – quite literally – tick all the boxes.

I’m in awe – both of the concept, and of her spreadsheet-compiling abilities!
