This is a great offer: in years gone by I had the pleasure of sampling Marcus’ cooking on more than one occasion, and it was always amazing. (I went there for work: tough life, eh?) The first time I ate at his restaurant Petrus I was a hardcore vegetarian. Some razzle-dazzle chefs would have thrown the ladle at me; others would have palmed me off with a butternut squash risotto. Marcus Wareing sent out specially-made dishes that were so beautiful to look at and so delicious, I daydreamed about them for months and months afterwards. Lovely man; lovely food.

My wife and I happened to be in Britain when The Sunday Telegraph had this great bargain offer. As we were staying in Brighton we made our way to Morrisons in nearby Seaford just to be told that ‘How to cook perfect’ had not been delivered. The employees in Morrisons suggested we should come again on the following Monday but when we did so, the book had still not been delivered. So, as we were eager to obtain a copy of the book, I emailed the Sunday Telegraph to tell them our story and they very obligingly offered to send us a copy to our home address in France. The book arrived today and we think it is very interesting and straightforward.The ste-by-step recepies seem very clear and we know what we are talking about as we have dozens of cookbooks and scrapbooks with recepies clipped from mags and newspapers from all parts of the world. Thank you very much for this good tip!
