We have a program here called "Share the Warmth". I kick in an extra $2-3 (about 5 pounds) a month for a fund to help the elderly and poor with their winter heating bills. It's administered by the Salvation Army, and means tested, so I'm happy that it's money well spent. OUCH. That’s quite a leap. Sounds like some winterizing is in order. (Here at my place, too.)
