I am delighted that my post Ah, for the love of laptop computers! which explored the dilemma of having to buy a new laptop computer when you’re on a frugal budget, has been featured in the latest Carnival of Personal Finance, hosted by Broke Grad Student.
It’s a BIG carnival, but my favourite entry has to be Paris Hilton Works Harder Than You Do, from the SavingAdvice.com blog. When I read this post I had what I think the self-improvement industry calls a “paradigm shift”!

Congratulations on being featured on the Carnival of Personal Finance! I’m glad that for all I say I am on a frugal student budget I have my wife to support me. She’s a college grad working full-time as an insurance underwriter. What this means? I got to go hog wild with a laptop computer. I’m typing this on my MacBook Pro! I guess I shouldn’t say hog wild – I felt bad for spending so much. But it’s been nice so far, for sure.
On a side note I read that post about Paris Hilton and on top of it being absolutely hilarious I think it has an interesting point. She really didn’t have to do any of those things – but she still did. Good for her.
